as i refine the image i am re-posting it so as to shed some light on the overall timeline and world where Nell and Gerrard live
Nell and Gerrard live in the same world as Hashtha and Corine, Kharn and Sherabi, Bruce and Kota as well as Marcus and DelNala.

the time line starts with Hashtha as she 'plays' with Corine. 

when Corine dies Hashtha focuses her energy on her rise to power within the Naga empire. 

when Nell and Gerrard come around Hashtha has been in power for many years and the humans  have taken to air cities as to avoid contact with the other races.

between the time of Nell/Gerrard and Kharn/Sherabi the human sky cities have been destroyed and major human populations scattered into city-states and make sport of killing as many of the other peoples as possible.  using Kharn as a figure head, Hashtha makes to conquer the world.

once Bruce and Kota come around Kharn and Sherabi are long gone and Hashtha is slowly relinquishing "public" power in favor of harassing all the ruling classes from the shadows.  she has also been working on changing the nature of humanity.

lastly Marcus and DelNala.  in every way that matters Hashtha's conquest and manipulation of humanity has been a resounding success.  such is the change that different races (such as human and wolf) are viewed no different than skin pigmentation.  although the situation is not perfect the majority of people hardly bat an eye when Marcus and DelNala start "going at it"


the irony towards "mainstream" is that it takes both a woman and a snake to fix humanity
